The court confirmed the arrest of three detainees in Bakhchisarai in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case

Today, the Supreme Court of Crimea considered the appeals of the defenders Enver Mamutov, Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov against the arrest order of the Kyiv District Court. The court rejected the complaints, thereby recognizing the arrest as legal. Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov writes about this on Facebook. The court hearing on the complaint of Rustem Abiltarov’s defense should take place later. All of them are accused of participating in the Hizb ut-Tahrir movement, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia.

The court did not accept the defense's arguments. Lawyers complained about keeping the accused in an iron cage during the court hearing and not allowing a number of listeners into the courtroom. Lawyers insist that the arrest is unfounded, since the investigation has not presented, according to the defense, any evidence that the accused can hide, intimidate witnesses, etc.

One of the accused, Enver Mamutov, stated that he was kept in solitary confinement and was not given the opportunity to send complaints, statements, writing materials or access to the library.

On May 12, searches were carried out in five houses and cafes in Bakhchisarai. Four people were detained and taken to the FSB headquarters in Simferopol: Enver Mamutov is suspected of organizing a terrorist cell, and Rustem Abeltarov, Remzi Memetov and Zevri Abseitov are suspected of participating in it.
