Putin fired Murov from the post of director of the FSO

Vladimir Putin fired Evgenia Murov from the post of director of the Federal Security Service. According to Interfax, the Kremlin press service reported this. It is noted that Murov resigned of his own free will.

Dmitry Kochnev, Deputy Murov, was appointed new director of the FSO, who had previously managed the Presidential Security Service.

Murov headed the FSO since May 2000. In 2004, he was awarded the title of Army General. He was awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland of the second, third and fourth degree, the Order of Military Merit, numerous medals. In November 2016, Murov will be 71 years old.

Dmitry Kochnev headed the Presidential Security Service in December 2015.

According to sources of RBC in the central apparatus of the FSO, the issue of Murov’s resignation has been resolved since 2014. “It’s no secret for us that the boss is going to a well -deserved rest, now he decides, either completely retire, or go to the Federation Council,” said one of the sources.
