First ”, dedicated to the history of the school of contemporary art“ Free Workshops ”.
According to the website of the MMOM , curators Daria Kamyshnikova and Lena Vazhenina “set themselves the task, recall the whole history of the school from the very beginning: to trace the history and path of those people who stood at its origins; to analyze what the school has done over the years of its existence, its merits; Show the works of current teachers - those who form a new generation of artists and curators, as well as students, school graduates, participants in the museum youth exhibition programs, which are the main result of the school. ”
The School of Contemporary Art “Free Workshops” - one of the oldest Russian educational institutions in the field of contemporary art - was created in 1992 by a group of art historians and artists, among which were Alexander Ponomarev, Vladimir Kupriyanov, Vladimir Sadyedkin, Vera of Dizh, Valery Turchin. In 2000, the school became part of the MMOM.
Their works at the exhibition “19/92. First ”will be presented by teachers, graduates, students and participants of the school’s exhibition programs: Crocodile Power , Andrey Bartenev, Anna Nasterd, Maria Ionova-Gribin, Alexander Ponomarev, Vladimir Potapov, Ilya Fedotov-Fedorov, Yuri Shabelnikov and many others.
The exhibition is carried out as part of the program for the collection of funds for the reconstruction of the building of the School of Modern Art of MMOM "Free Workshops"
