The Petersburg performer Malinen recently released a new “Contact Print” record-8 beautiful English-language songs in the range from blues to touching indie points. In general, this is all the same dreamy and bright indie, for which Anton Malinen fell in love after his previous album “Shangri La”, but played by a more mature and confident author, whose future always promises slightly more than the present. Colta.ru represents a new record with the author’s comment.
The name of the album is a pure metaphor, songs like shots of the same shooting are somewhat similar, but in many ways different. Although I am a small fan of conceptual creativity, even if I like something, I do not perceive him with such (conceptual). Some other perception mechanisms work. This plate differs from the previous one, first of all, in that before that I wrote all the music at home - and “Contact Print” was made in professional studios. From the point of view of music, it turned out, in my opinion, more minimalistic and focused - but this is solved to the listener. Initially, I planned to involve the state-owned chore to work, which works with one of the Lutheran churches in Moscow. There was an idea to use two vocal teams-from France or from Sweden, but in the end, due to organizational difficulties, I decided to record all the voices myself. Many advise me to quit promoting my music here and more actively engage in Western tour - but I would like to play here and there. At least, the Moscow Contact Print presentation was very good, and this inspires the hope that my music will be in demand in Russia.
