In the Irkutsk region, analogues of Soviet state farms will be created. According to Interfax, the governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko stated this. According to him, folk enterprises organized by the type of collective farms may appear in remote northern territories.

"We already plan to organize about 20 national enterprises - analogues of collective farms of the past this year," Levchenko said at a press conference as part of the Baikal Press festival.

According to him, folk enterprises will be created to unite local farmers and entrepreneurs.

“I think we will unite them and give them benefits. Only in this way can you survive in these harsh conditions,” the head of the region said.

Communist Levchenko became the governor of the Irkutsk region after the victory in the elections in September 2015. According to the results of the second round, he gained 56.39 percent of the vote.
