IOC convicted of doping of eight participants in the 2012 Games from Russia

Doping tests of eight participants in the 2012 Olympic Games from Russia gave a positive result. This is reported by Interfax , the International Olympic Committee notified the Russian Olympic Committee.

The committee also noted that in accordance with the rules, before the opening of trial “B”, the names of athletes will not be made public.

On May 27, the IOC reported that a total of 23 athletes from six countries (265 athletes were asked in total) who participated in 2012 games showed a positive result for doping.

A similar test of trial 454 participants of the 2008 OI in Beijing revealed the use of prohibited drugs in 31 athletes, among them 14 Russians. Russia forbade those convicted in doping to perform as part of the national team in Rio.
