In Odessa, the main person involved in the “May 2 case” was re -arrested after threats to the witness

The Kiev District Court of Odessa repeatedly arrested the main person involved in the “May 2 case” - Russian citizen Yevgeny Mfeedov, two days earlier than the decision of another court under house arrest. It is reported by "Interfax-Ukraine." The reason was the excitement against Mepedov of a new case - for the threat of murder of the key witness of the prosecution Alexander Smimichenko.

On May 26, the day before the next trial as the court is suppressed, the mefedov, waiting for the release from the pre -trial detention center, wrote to Viber in the Viber messenger: "Khokhol, I promised you that I would fall in, and you would not believe me. Tomorrow they would change my preventive measure, and I will go out to freedom, wait for a visit."

Smimichenko took threats seriously and filed a statement to Mepedov. According to this statement, the case was initiated against the Russian case under part 2 of Article 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (threat of murder based on national intolerance), which provides for three to five years of the colony.

On Friday, the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa really softened the measure of restraint, however, immediately after the release in the courtroom, he was detained in the new case and sent to the IVS.

In addition, on Saturday, the regional prosecutor's office opened the case under part 1 of Article 375 of the Criminal Code of the country (by judges of a knowingly unlawful decision), which provides for two to five years of the colony. The case has been instituted to mitigate Mepedov's measures of restraint. The supervisory department argues that, considering the request of the prosecutor to extend the prisoner of detention in jail, the judges "made illegal decisions and, in violation of procedural norms, actually chose a new measure of restraint."

On May 2, 2014, bloody clashes occurred in Odessa between activists of local Maidan and Antimaydan. The battles began on Novosobornaya Square. The police not only did not interfere with the riots, but also covered the anti -Maidan people who used firearms. In the future, skirmishes moved to the house of trade unions on the Kulikovo field, where the headquarters of Antimaydan was located. Some of the anti -Maidanians continued to shoot from the roof, many people were inside the building. Later, a fire began in the building. Several people died of burns, most died from carbon monoxide poisoning and unidentified gases. In total, 48 people became victims of clashes on May 2.
