Dmitry Chudin from the Moscow Region served his 5-year term in IK-1 of the Republic of Karelia and, according to him, was constantly subjected to beatings. It all started in the pre-trial detention center of the City of Segezhi, where he violated the regime-he wrote at night a cassation appeal against his sentence. Planted for 15 days in a schizo (penalty area.-Ed. ), 13 of which he was already serving in IK-1. Once in the colony immediately in a schizo, he thus avoided quarantine, where often, as Dmitry says, “activists” beat again by the convicts (convicts, cooperating and fulfilling instructions of the administration. - Ed. ), But he did not escape the “reception” itself.
“I went into the detachment when there was no one, they just attacked me and began to beat,” says Chudin. - For what? And so that it was immediately clear who is the main one: in IK-1 beat all newly arrived without exception, for “educational purposes”.
The main paragraph of claims was the observance of the “internal regulations”, which were interpreted by the administration very widely. “Each time, entering a single camera, the employees demanded that I put on a“ duty ”bandage, saying that it was clear who is on duty. But I'm alone in the cell, ”Dmitry recalls. In response to puzzled questions, he was brought to the “inspection room” almost every day and, according to him, was beaten. "Commanded:" Stop legs, arms up! " - And beat. Shout - shut your mouth with a hat or what else, fall - forcing you to get up, you can’t get up - they beat on the floor. It used to be threatened to put the club in the anus. ” To avoid beatings, as Chudin says, he cut the veins, swallowed objects. Sometimes it helped, then everything continued again. At some point, Dmitry miraculously managed to contact the Foundation “In Defense of the Rights of Prisoners” and tell everything.
-In IK-1, this, of course, immediately became known. I was met by the deputy on Bor ( deputy chief of the colony for safety and operational work.-Ed.) And said that there were checks because of my statement that I would not achieve anything, but they would not need excess vanity and therefore they won’t touch me anymore, ”says Dmitry. They didn’t beat for more than a month. The fund, in turn, was written from the prosecutor's office that Chudin was doing his own beatings. I quote: "Being in the cell, (he) inflicts blows to himself with fists on the hips, sitting on a bench."
- A week before the release, the prosecutor on supervision shouted to me: “You won’t reach Moscow!”, And the operatives told me directly that they could be thrown at the station. I was very afraid, my relatives asked all the pockets to sew in the clothes that they would send me for liberation.
The story of Dmitry Chudin is not the most terrible and not at all rare - thousands of messages about torture and violence in colonies and pre -trial detention centers receive human rights organizations. A meaningless wheel is spinning from year to year: “A complaint - verification on a complaint -“ there is no reason to initiate a criminal case ”,“ no violations have been established ”. From year to year, mutilated people come out of the colonies and pre -trial detention centers. Whoever is lucky - alive, others take away others - to the churchyard.

A rare case falls into resonance, even less often-one of the tormentors receives a sentence. As for the generals, they always manage to avoid at least any losses. For example, General Alexander Gnezdilov, who headed the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Saratov Region, in 2012 stated at a press conference that he would resign if the fault of his subordinates in the murder of convicted person Artyom Sotnikov. Two years later, on April 11, 2014, the verdict of the Engels District Court of the IK-13 were found guilty of the murder of Sotnikov and received from 9 to 12.5 years of strict regime. General Gnezdilov did not resign, but to increase the FSIN to the central apparatus, so that, then, obviously, having improved the qualifications, return back to the Saratov region to the same position.
In the investigation of the death of Sotnikov, the Federal Penitentiary Service intensively worked out the traditional version of “falling from the stairs”, but, thanks to the active position of the mother of the deceased and public control, the case was brought to the end.
The case is one of the hundreds. Because usually either the convicts themselves, if they are alive, or their relatives, if the outcome is flying, they “convince” to abandon the complaint. Well, either the inspection bodies “believe” in history with the stairs.
On January 24, 2014, the members of the PMC of the Sverdlovsk region in the SHISO camera of one of the local colonies were discovered by Yusup T. with traces of beatings (swollen hands with bruises treated with green). When meeting with a lawyer, Yusup explained that after arriving in IK-5, he was placed in a box in which he spent three days. After he was transferred to the aviary for dogs, which is located next to the duty unit, - he sat there for a day. Then he was transferred to the SHISO camera, where they chained handcuffs to the door lattice. In this position, he was 10 days. They unfastened only at the time of eating and at night, so that he could sleep on the floor. They took it barely into the street, threw it into the snow and doused with water, lay on ice asphalt, then the employees sat on it, saying that he would soon get tuberculosis and die. In a walking box, he was handcuffed to reinforcement, to which they connected an electric current. Alas, after the intervention of the PMC and the investigation, the convicted person abandoned all claims to the colony officers.
And again, the Saratov region, where General General General returned. On August 12, 2015, Nikolai Petrovich, born in 1978, died in a pre-trial detention center-1 He arrived there five days earlier in transit for further detention in the pre-trial detention center of the city of Volsk. Numerous hematomas were discovered on Leontyev’s body, although the causes of death were named: “Acute coronary failure. Sudden death syndrome ”(actually, most often characteristic of babies up to a year). The relatives of Leontiev turned to the prosecutor’s office and the investigating authorities: they refused to initiate the case, and the response of the prosecutor's office of the Saratov region said that N.P. Leontiev lost consciousness and fell on the bed in the cell after leaving the toilet, which "caused the indicated bodily harm." As a result, the death of Leontiev "came from acute coronary failure." Regarding damage and hematomas, it was said that they were “not regarded as harm to health and formed as a result of the fall of the latter from the height of their own growth and the blow to the rack of the bed and the subsequent blow to the floor of the room.”
These are only a few thousands of thousands, no one has gone to resign, but units were condemned. But these stories have a sequel: when the prisoners still try to defend their rights, the consequence of their complaints is the initiation of criminal cases of slander.
