In the Kirov region, a 24-year-old local resident was detained and arrested, who is charged with participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war as part of the Azov National Guard regiment. This was announced on Friday by the regional headquarters of the TFR. The person, whose name is not disclosed, has already been charged under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code (participation in the armed conflict as a mercenary), which provides for three to seven years of colony.

As noted, the case was initiated based on the materials of the regional headquarters of the FSB. The investigation is conducted by the 2nd department for the investigation of especially important cases of the regional department of the TFR.

According to the plot of the case, the accused in February 2015 arrived in Ukraine and joined the Azov in order to improve the financial situation and fought with the “People’s Militia forces” until January 2016, after which he returned to his homeland. At the same time, after joining the regiment, the Investigative Department says, the Kirov citizen received at least 1,500 hryvnias, and in the future he was paid a monthly at least 10 thousand hryvnias. Thus, the TFR concludes, the total amount received by the accused during participation in the war amounted to over 200 thousand rubles in terms of Russian currency.
