Isinbaeva: "No one has the right to forbid me to speak where I want"

Two -time Olympic champion and multiple world record holder in the sixth jumps Elena Isinbaeva commented on a doping scandal around Russian athletes that are removed from the competition and are forced to pay for errors of individual team members.

“I have been playing on the world arena for 20 years, I have four Olympiads behind me, 30 world records. At the same time, I haven’t been able to set any of the world records in Russia, although I really wanted to. But in this situation this is a plus: I passed doping control around the world, the samples were always negative, and no one has the right to prohibit me where I want,” the champion in the interview of RT said.

“I do not see the connection, and it was very angry. And I decided to say: I will not be responsible for the actions of other people. I did not violate. I always performed honestly and will be honest. I will not allow anyone to deprive me of the rights that I deserved,” she added.

Isinbaeva noted that the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) closes its eyes on the systematic use of doping by foreign athletes, but at the same time requires that the entire Russian athlete team pays for the incorrect actions of individual athletes and officials.

All this reminds her of a political order - especially against the background of a difficult situation in the international arena.

“We know very well that in other countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Kenya (there aren’t enough fingers on his hand!), Athletes were disqualified. They calmly settled down for two years, without stopping training, and then they won and put records. We know that there is a systematic use of doping. If they want to deal with the problem of doping in world sports, let them understand. But let them open their eyes and look at other directions.
