Members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill have announced the formation of Prophets of Rage, which includes members of all three bands.
The band included RATM guitarist, drummer and bassist Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerfold, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill frontman B-Real. Vocalist RATM Zach de la Roca does not participate in the new group.
The team will perform songs from all three groups and new works. The first concert will take place on May 31 at the famous Whiskey a Go-Go club in Los Angeles. The band's website states that future plans for Prophets of Rage will be announced at a later date.
“We are not a supergroup. We are an elite band of revolutionary musicians who are going to take out a bunch of bullshit in an election year and do it with the help of screaming Marshalls,” said Tom Morello.
