Russian companies called foreign governments one of the sources of cyberosis

The governments of foreign states are one of the main sources of cybehrrosis. This, as the Kommersant newspaper writes, is evidenced by a survey of 100 managers and leading specialists of information security departments (IB) of the largest companies in Russia and representative offices of foreign companies conducted by Innopolis University.

The survey was attended by representatives of Rostelecom, VTB, Russian Railways, Rosneft, Lukoil, Tatneft, Bashneft, Russian Helicopters, General Electric, etc. The main source of threats in the field of information security last year, 66% of respondents called the current employees of the company, 42% noted incidents involving hackers, 27% drew attention to the threat from former employees, 24% complained to existing contractors and providers of services, 18% called foreign governments a source. Finally, 8% of respondents announced dangers from foreign companies.

In addition, 60% of experts surveyed by the University of Innopolis called the level of information security in their companies insufficient, and 58% reported that organizations do not have a comprehensive IB strategy.

During the survey, 3% of the participants said that from their companies from the last year, from 100 to a thousand IS incidents, another 24% announced the detection of 10 to 100 cyber attacks, 48% of the respondents reported that the number of incidents did not exceed 10, and the remaining 24% found it difficult to name the approximate number of attacks. The main result of attacks in most cases was the theft or damage to internal data, as well as the theft or compromise of personal data of customers or employees.

Recall, according to the results of the joint research of the Frius, Group-Ib and Microsoft, which was presented in mid-April, the total damage caused by the Russian economy from cybercrime in 2015 amounted to 203.5 billion rubles. At the same time, according to PWC, the average damage from the incident in IB grew to $ 5.3 million last year, which is 47% higher than 2014.
