Google went around Yandex in popularity in Russia

The Google search engine has become the most popular Internet service in Russia, ahead of Yandex for a total monthly audience. This was reported by the newspaper Vedomosti with reference to TNS data for April 2016.

Last month, 20.5 million Runet users contacted the Google website and applications. In Yandex, this figure is slightly lower - only 20.4 million people, in third place Mail.ru - 19.3 million.

Yandex remains the leader in the daily audience (12.3 million), following the search engine of the VKontakte social network (12.1 million). According to this parameter, Google closes three from 11 million users per day.

The growth in the popularity of Google is associated with the advantage of the search engine on mobile devices and the growth of mobile traffic in Russia, respectively, the publication notes. Until April 2016, the company's research did not take into account all types of devices with Internet access.

In January 2015, Google was already bypassed by Yandex in the TNS ranking. In the same year, the FAS checked the activities of Google at the request of Yandex. The Russian company argued that the corporation does not allow you to install third -party services in the framework of the factory settings of mobile devices.
