Novosibirsk students donated more than 600 liters of blood during a donor campaign

More than 633 liters of blood were given by Novosibirsk students as part of the XXVII student donor campaign, which took place from March 15 to May 26. The participants in the action became 1324 Novosibirsk students, specified in the regional Ministry of Health.

According to Konstantin Khalzov, chief physician of the Novosibirsk Clinical Blood Center, the student days of the donor are a huge help for health care. Part of the blood donated (platelets and red blood cells) after testing and the necessary preparation is almost immediately sent to the regional oncgetological clinics, since the need for transfusion of these components is constantly very high. Plasma is laid on quarantine and after six months also enters medical institutions.

The governments of the Novosibirsk region, from all previous ones, the current student donor session was distinguished by the number of participating educational institutions and an indicator of re -donation. Initially, 14 higher and two secondary special educational institutions of the region announced their intention to take part in the donor marathon, but already during the action they were joined by the Novosibirsk College of Postal Communications and Service.
