Many, many years ago, Jay Gudoll, a British primatologist who turned our ideas about humanoid monkeys, going to live in a flock of chimpanzee in Tanzania and, in fact, became a member of this pack, told one story.
She met with adult chimpanzees, who was sitting in a tiny cage by some owner of the bar. The used syringes were lying around the cell. At the sight of the guboll chimpanzees, he put his hand through the cage rods and made a gesture that he wanted to prick. The trembling gripped buzza. She realized what happened. The owner of the chimpanzees, as is often the case in Africa, kept it on drugs to calm the animal, and chimpanzees became a drug addict.
And he understood that he was a drug addict. He had a breakdown, and he wanted to prick. Can you imagine what level of intelligence this indicates?
God sees, I am not a lover of social justice and ecofundmentalists. I consider fighters for global warming and against social inequality by infantile “useful idiots” - in the best case, and in the worst - cynical representatives of quasi -and -cascracles, which are genetic heirs of subversive groups organized by the NKVD and the Comintern in order to destroy bourgeois society from the inside.
But there is one exception that I am ready to defend in principle and to the end. This exception applies to animals with a large brain, that is, first of all, whales and dolphins, as well as our closest relatives - bonobo, chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans.
The measure of the maturity of mankind as a biological species is determined, among other things, the attitude to those biological species who, like a person, have intelligence. On May 28, 2016, humanity represented by the director of the Zincinnati Taney Meinard zoo, this exam failed with a bang.
On this day, in a zoo subordinate to Mainard, a 4-year-old child climbed over the fence and fell from three meters down into the corral, in which the gorillas lived.
In order to get through the fence and bushes, the boy needed a lot of time, and his parents, obviously, did not follow him. Perhaps this is explained by their biography: the boy’s father, a black Deon Dilexson, had almost a ten -year criminal story - robbery, drug trafficking, hooliganism and even abduction of a person. From his cohabitant Michel Gregg, he had four children.
When falling from a three -meter height, the boy was severely broken and, making his way through the thorny bushes that separated the fence from the cliff, scratched. He fell into a shallow stream. People began to yell, and then the male gorilla named Harambe ran up to the boy and became a defensive pose above him.
On the eve of Harambe, it turned seventeen years old, and he was grown as a man - Jerry Stones from a zoo in Browsville, Texas. At the age of 17, Harambe weighed 200 kg, he had a silver back-a characteristic sign of an adult alpha male responsible for the safety of the pack.
Despite the fact that Harambe did nothing with a disoriented child and, moreover, apparently guarded him, the crowd at the top raised a wild scream, perceived by Gorilla as aggression.
The boy’s mother at that time called 911 and screamed hysterically: “Son, I'm with you.” Harambe, disoriented by screams, began to run away and dragged the boy with him by the leg. At some point, he stopped, put the boy in front of him and even straightened his pants. The crowd yelled more. Harambe began to run away again and again took the boy with him.
Three actors with IQ in the region of 75 took part in the tragedy: a child, a gorilla and mother of a child. Only gorilla suffered at the same time
Ten minutes later, the special team arrived at Harambe, putting his bullet in his heart. The director of the zoo explained that the gorilla was disoriented and that the ampoule with sleeping pills would have been operating for 10-15 minutes. “The child’s life was in danger. People who question our actions doubt do not understand that you cannot take risks when you are dealing with a silver -bore gorilla - this is a dangerous animal, ”he said. - Looking back, we would make the same decision. The child is safe. "
“God saved my child,” said a happy mother on Facebook. She did not even mention the death of Haramba. She also did not mention that the only serious trauma that the boy received was a concussion from the fall from a height.
In fact, on that day in Cincinnati, three took part in the tragedy.
A four -year -old boy with an intelligence of a four -year -old boy. 200-kilogram gorilla with the intelligence of a four-year-old boy. And the crowd with the same four -year intelligence of the crowd. Everyone was to blame, but only the gorilla killed.
Was there a danger that threatened the boy was serious?
Answer: No.
Similar precedents have already been. In 1986, 5-year-old boy Levan Merrit fell into the corral to the gorillas on the island of Jersey and also broke very much, falling from a great height. The silver-bore alpha male named Jambo immediately became in a protective counter, drove the rest of the family from him (who also did not show special aggression) and led his family into the house, providing the zoo employees to pick up the boy.
The incident was shot in the video; In the video you can hear that people at the top behave significantly quieter and do not yell wild voices. The director of the zoo, of course, could shoot Jambo while he was standing over the boy, and say that you canm take risk with a Silverback Gorilla. But he did not do this, and Jambo erected a monument as the Savior of the boy.
Ten years later, a similar incident happened in Brookfield, Illinois. There, in 1996, a three -year -old child fell into a corral for gorillas from a seven -meter height. He broke his hand and broke his face. The female gorilla named Binti Jua approached the boy who had lost consciousness. On the back at this time, Binti Jua sat her own 17-month-old Kula daughter. The crowd again began to yell, but Binti Jua, taking the boy in her arms, carried him to the door of the corral and gave him to the ministers.
Again, if at that moment Binti Jua and the boy were shot in his arms, the director of the zoo then could say that "the child’s life was in danger." However, the child’s life was safe, and Binti Jua also began to be called a savior.
There was nothing surprising in the behavior of Jambo and Binti Jua. The gorilla, despite its frightening appearance (a silver -bore male can reach 200 or more kg), is a peaceful and delicate animal. Researchers of gorillas unanimously call them Gentle Giant - peaceful giants. Gorilla is, roughly speaking, a Hodor from the Game of Thrones. On May 28, Khodor shot at Cincinnati.
Of course, peacefulness and high intelligence do not mean that the gorilla cannot be angry. It is possible - just like a child, drunk or moron.
In addition, Goril is smart. The intelligence of the gorilla is not inferior to the intellect of a 3-4-year-old child. The 40-year-old Gorilla Coco knows two thousand English words and knows how to pronounce one thousand words with the help of a language adapted for her. Coco knows how to joke and has a sense of his own "I".
A few years ago she was given a kitten. She called him all the ball, All Ball. When the kitten fell under the car and the teacher Coco Francin Peterson told Coco that he died, Coco was inconsolable. “Bad, sad, bad,” said Gorilla, “frowning, crying, frowning, sad.” And cried. Soon Coco gave two other kittens. She called their lipstick and smoky, lipstick and smoky.
IQ Coco is about 75. This is an IQ of a child, drunk or moron. If Coco were a person, she would study at school and was considered a "child with developmental features." Any attempt by teachers to survive her from school would be regarded as a flagrant incorrectness.
Of course, peacefulness and high intelligence do not mean that the gorilla cannot be angry. It is possible - just like a child, drunk or moron.
For example, in May 2007, the silver -binning male of Gorilla, nicknamed Bokito from the Rotterdam Zoo, climbed over the barrier and brutally attacked a woman: bit, broke bones and dragged several tens of meters. After that, Bokito went to rest into a neighboring restaurant: he did not touch anyone, but the audience, having pannered, retreated, and during the retirades three visitors suffered injuries. Bokito was returned to the zoo without any further acquaintance.
The woman attacked by Bokito was not a random passerby. She constantly came to the zoo, got up opposite Bokito and smiled at him. To the explanations of the employees of the zoo that this cannot be done, the woman objected that Bokito pays attention to her and smiles in response.
Here it must be explained that anticipated monkeys know how to joke, but they do not know how to smile. Animals do not smile - they show their teeth. Bokito perceived the smile of a woman as a daily constant undeserved aggression.
In Marseille in 1902, an even more tragic case happened: the gorilla contained in the zoo (at that time it was the only gorilla in Europe) killed her caretaker. It was precisely the murder - the pre -thought, conceived and under aggravating circumstances. His reason was jealousy.
The fact is that the male gorilla, deprived of a couple, began to test for his fragile (from the point of view of the gorilla) the caretaker's tender feelings that he abused, introducing the gorilla to his wife. Realizing that the promising object of courtship changed him with some insignificant female, the male was furious and unscrewed his head out of jealousy.
Let us now return to the occasion in Cincinnati. Did the child danger? Undoubtedly. However, it was not that Harambe intended to eat or damage the baby, but that he was disoriented and did not understand what was happening.
He tried to protect the cub from an incomprehensible-aggressive crowd from above and, since he was a young and inexperienced father (Goril lives up to 50 years old, and Harambe, by human standards, was 22-23), he could cripple a child, saving him, as it seemed to him, from an enraged crowd, the main source of cries in which was, which was not thinking of following the child, so far, so far, so far. He did not fall into the corral, but after that she decided to compensate for the lack of care with hysterical calls on 911, interspersed with insane, “mother loves you”.
Let me also remind you that Harambe was grown by man. His teacher Jerry Stones raised him at home and changed his diapers at midnight, just like any human child. Stones notes that among the gorillas Harambe he raised, he was distinguished by a special mind and responsibility: “He was especially remembered because he was very smart. He was positively tuned to leadership. He fiddled with his siblings, wore them, ”says Jerry Stone.
Here is the boy Harambe - carried. After all, his educators encouraged him to do this!
In other words, three actors with IQ in the region of 75 took part in the tragedy: a child, a gorilla and mother of a child. Only the gorilla suffered at the same time.
People took the gorilla and put her in jail. Then a child fell into this prison. The gorilla, sitting in prison, began to defend the falling child. For this she was killed.
I'm afraid that on May 28, humanity did not pass the humanity test. Or at least showed disappointing results.
