Detentions and administrative prosecutions

Vologda oppositionist Evgeny Domozhirov had his term of administrative arrest reduced from ten to five days. He was detained after a meeting with local residents who were dissatisfied with the development. He was accused of organizing an uncoordinated event and disobeying a lawful request of police officers.

In the Moscow region, the ten-day arrest of blogger Yan Katelevsky for participating in filming near a police department was recognized as legal , and in Primorye, the arrest of cosmodrome builder Anton Tyurishev for obscene language (or for intending to ask Putin a question) was illegal .

In Belgorod, a person who stood in a single picket near the regional court building was fined 15 thousand , and in Ulyanovsk a doctor who participated in a public gathering was fined 50 thousand .

In addition, the Supreme Court decided that a computer can be confiscated for posting Nazi symbols.

But there is good news: in Samara, fines were canceled for two activists for someone else’s single picket: a statement against them was written by provocateurs from the pro-Kremlin NOD movement, and the court of first instance paid attention only to their testimony.

Criminal prosecutions

It’s been a while since law enforcement agencies showed interest in Alexei Navalny, but then they came to Ekho Moskvy to find out about his blog, and they summoned him for questioning with a personal search , and they took all the equipment out of the apartment . The reason is a recently opened case of slander against former investigator of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate Pavel Karpov, who participated in the investigation of the case of Sergei Magnitsky.

Several sentences for different types of statements. In the Kirov region, two residents were sentenced to 230 hours of compulsory labor for placing an effigy on a worship cross. Anarchist Elizaveta Tsvetkova from Taganrog was sentenced to a year of correctional labor for distributing leaflets that were seen as inciting hatred against the social group “police officers.” Berdsk resident Maxim Kormelitsky received a year in a penal colony for publishing a picture with an offensive comment about Orthodox Christians swimming in an ice hole. The case of Irina Kalmykova, accused of “repeated violations of the procedure for holding public events,” was returned to the prosecutor’s office to correct the shortcomings. Kalmykova previously left Russia and is wanted.

Convicted in the Bolotnaya case, Ivan Nepomnyashchikh was taken to a colony in the Yaroslavl region, the same one where another convict in the same case, Dmitry Ishevsky, is being held.

Crimean resident Alexander Kostenko, convicted of causing harm to a Berkut fighter on Maidan, was registered in the colony as prone to escape.

Two Ukrainian citizens, Gennady Afanasyev, convicted in the Crimean Terrorist Case, and Yuriy Soloshenko, found guilty of espionage, wrote petitions for pardon . There is reason to believe that this will help them return to their homeland sooner.

Other types of persecution

They came to the office of the “Environmental Watch for the North Caucasus” with a search : the police explained that they had received a statement about the presence of unlicensed equipment on the organization’s computers.

Crimean journalist Liliya Budzhurova received a warning from the prosecutor's office for publishing a call to create a fund to help the children of arrested Muslims.

The European Court of Human Rights accepted complaints from a number of Moscow activists about detentions (including Ildar Dadin, convicted of “repeated violations at public events”) and journalist Alexander Sokolov about arrest in a criminal case, and also ordered Russia to pay about six thousand euros to a journalist from Novocherkassk Elena Nadtoke in the case of insulting the former mayor.
