Pavlensky's trial: finale

On June 6, at 11:30 a.m., a meeting will be held in the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow on the criminal case of Pyotr Pavlensky for setting fire to the door of the FSB ("Threat" action). The artist's colleague Oksana Shalygina believes that this meeting will be the last: "The judge strongly accelerates and drives forward at full sail. And, perhaps, on June 6, the so-called verdict will be announced."

At the previous meeting, Judge Elena Gudoshnikova accepted a civil lawsuit against Pavlensky in the amount of 481,461 rubles and 83 kopecks. The lawsuit was filed by Dmitry Kazakov, a representative of the recognized victim of military unit 55002. According to him, the repair of the door set on fire by Pavlensky was estimated at this amount.

The artist was initially charged with part 2 of article 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism motivated by ideological hatred), which provides for up to three years in prison. At the end of March, however, it became known about the reclassification of the case to part 1 of article 243 of the Criminal Code (damage to the identified object of cultural heritage), which implies the same maximum period.

Pavlensky himself, from the moment the case was initiated, sought to retrain him to Article 205 of the Criminal Code (terrorist attack).
