The Expert Council, headed by the Governor of the Pskov Region, Andrei Turchak, approved the Poklonnaya Cross layout, which will be installed at the site of the death of the Pskov paratroopers in Chechnya near the village of Ulus-Kert in 2000. The granite memorable sign consists of a cross 2.6 meters high and a weight of nine tons, as well as a stone at the base. The inscription "Nick" is knocked out on the cross, which means translated from the Greek "Victory", and in the foundation - "memory to the fallen." The monument in form repeats the ancient Pskov Poklonnaya Crosses. The version of the memorable sign was chosen by the parents of the dead soldiers. The governor instructed to send photos to relatives for final approval.

The cross is planned to be installed in the Argun Gorge until the second half of September. Installation obligations will be assumed by the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society.

An agreement on the installation of a memorial sign was reached between the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and Turchak, who, together with the parents of the dead paratroopers of the 6th company in November 2015, visited the republic. In December 2010, it was reported that a criminal investigation was resumed in Chechnya on the death of the Pskov paratroopers in 2000. Ten years later, the first accused appeared in the case. According to the representative of the regional department of the Investigative Committee, the charges were brought by two fighting participants. Suspects - Kemala Ebzeev and Rashid Atov - shortly before that employees of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs in Karachay -Cherkessia detained. The third suspect in this case, a native of the Stavropol Territory of the 35 -lodgers of the Hamidula Yapov, was also transferred from Pushkin near Moscow.

"Ebzeev and Atov were charged under Article 317 of the Criminal Code (" an encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer "), investigative actions are being taken with Japanese," the Directorate of the Investigative Committee said.

According to the representative of the department, the criminal case in connection with the death of the paratroopers was opened in April 2000, but the investigation was suspended due to the need to establish involved persons. "On December 6, after the detention of the first suspects, the investigation department resumed the investigation of this case," a source in the TFR noted.

He also said that the last detained Hamidula Yakov acquired his own business, led a company that engaged in cargo transportation. In 2002, he was judged by two articles of the Criminal Code for participating in illegal armed groups and illegal weapons, but two years later he was released on parole. The accused Atov, according to investigators, also left the ranks of illegal armed groups and worked as a designer in the Dandelion children's journal, and only the third - Ebzeev, according to operational data, continued to “cooperate” with illegal armed groups.
