In Spain, the city of Quart de Poblet allowed its residents to vote in a referendum on street renaming via the Telegram messenger. You can also vote through special terminals and through the site.
On the first day of voting, 193 people voted on the site, and 79 citizens chose street names via Telegram.
In total, the city plans to rename eight streets. Residents can choose names from 24 options.
The new street names are proposed to be chosen from a list of 24 options - mostly female names belonging to famous actresses, activists, poets and scientists, including Mother Teresa and Marie Skłodowska-Curie. It also features "8th March Street" and "13 Roses Street" in honor of thirteen unknown women executed under Francoist Spain's regime.
