In Ulyanovsk, a court sentenced Eduard Zinnurov, the son of former deputy regional governor Vildan Zinnurov, to 6.5 years in a maximum security colony. He was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm, battery, threatening to kill and extortion.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, on December 30, 2014, Zinnurov and his friends beat a man with whom he had a conflict on the road, as well as his brother, a police officer. He shot the last one in the head with a traumatic pistol.
The court also found that in 2010, Zinnurov, together with his accomplices, extorted 50 thousand rubles from a resident of Kazan. “Not getting what they wanted, the attackers took the victim to Ulyanovsk, where they detained him for two days,” says the prosecutor’s office website.
Rustam Yakhiev and Kamil Aleev, who were convicted in the first episode, were sentenced to 4 years and 1 month and 4 years in a maximum security colony, respectively. One of the extortion accomplices, Marat Yafarov, received 5 years and 8 months of strict regime, the other, Ivan Semyannov, was sentenced to 2 years and one month of suspended imprisonment.
The defendants did not admit their guilt.
Today, June 7, 2016, a group of residents of the regional center, convicted by the Prosecutor's Office of the Ulyanovsk Region of committing several crimes, was isolated from society in a colony.
