In Moscow they want to launch a new program for the construction of parking after the failures of the "People's Garage"

The Moscow authorities plan to launch a new investment program for the construction of multi -level parking lots, which should replace the People’s Garage program. This was told by the General Director of the State Unitary Enterprise "Directorate of Garage Construction" Damir Talipov Agency RIA Novosti .

According to him, in the framework of the conceived program, the city will offer investors attractive areas to accommodate garage facilities on the conditions of co -investment.

As Talipov assured, the authorities “took into account the lessons of the“ people's garage ”, so the new parking lots will be designed with premises for commercial services on the ground floor. In addition, it is planned to enter a new type of garages in the city landscape and make them“ look interesting ”.

The "People's Garage" program started in 2009 under the mayor of Yuri Luzhkov. With its help, the authorities planned to solve the problem with a shortage of parking places in the capital. The parking space in the "folk" parking lots sold 350 thousand rubles each. However, later the program was recognized as a failure . In particular, she was criticized for the fact that many garages were built in the distance from residential buildings and had an not too presentable appearance, RIA Novosti notes.

As reported, in total in 2010-2015, about 150 "folk garages" were erected in the capital. In particular, in 2015, the construction of 12 multi-level parking lots was completed, in which 2355 television spaces are located. And in 2016-2017, 15 more sites can be built.
