Extension of arrest of Pyotr Pavlensky until October recognized as legal

The Moscow City Court upheld the decision of the Meshchansky District Court to extend until October 20 the period of detention of Pyotr Pavlensky. The Moscow City Court left the complaint of the defense unsatisfied. The day before, during the debate of the parties in the case of setting fire to the door of the FSB building on Lubyanka Square, the prosecutor asked the court to sentence the artist to a fine of two million rubles, mitigating the punishment to one and a half million, taking into account the time spent in custody. The verdict will be announced on June 8 - accordingly, Pavlensky may be released much earlier than October.
