The film "Colony of Dignidad" was released on the screens, the main role in which was played by the famous actress and a civil activist, a wardr for women, Emma Watson . The picture is based on real events and is relevant in relation to problems, which, unfortunately, exist in modern society. The main theme of the film is religious fundamentalism, which took the form of clerical fascism.
After the coup in Chile, the couple in love - the left activist Daniel and the stewardess Lena - falls into the German religious community, in fact a totalitarian sect in which men and women live in separate huts and do not even see each other. Sexuality is suppressed, reporting is flourishing, colonists are subjected to sophisticated bullying. Children are taken from mothers at three months of age, they do not know their parents. In the colony, slave labor is used, its members live strictly according to the schedule. It is forbidden everything that the owner of "Dignidad" Paul Schaeffer will count Satanic - from bras to bathing in a pond.
In the traditions of Patriarchate - for the "offenses" of women, they call on male meetings, where they are subjected to severe group beating. In breaks, the self -proclaimed Messiah "resurrects" the dead, rape children and brings to his adherents the will of God.
Even before the dictatorship of the Augusto Pinochet, Schaeffer collaborated with right extremists and runaway Nazis. In the colony, the head of the extremist organization Patria and Libertad Roberto Time and many other conspirators, wanted by the Government of the socialist Salvador Allende , was hidden. After the 1973 military coup, the colony was actively used to torture political opponents of Pinochet. Daniel got there directly from the stadium to Santiago, where opponents of the new regime were delivered after the arrests.
"Dignidad", "paradise" on earth supported their own forces, is similar to other places in which a happy new world is being built. Whether it is a single country or agricultural community, such "colonies" are cut off from the world, and the "lucky ones" inhabiting them do not have the right to get rid of their happiness. It’s easy to get into the colony, but the units managed to leave it. “Didadad” is fenced with a high fence with barbed wire, for reliability reinforced by electricity, so that no one could run away from the gracious custody of his leader.
Until we learn to show solidarity, we will not cause confidence
The film breaks stereotypes in the sense that in traditional literature and cinema, the “knight” man saves his beautiful lady. Here, on the contrary, Lena decides to free Daniel. To begin with, she goes to the revolutionary comrades. However, they declare about the same thing that Dmitry Medvedev said to the residents of Crimea: "You stay here, you are all good, good mood and health."
A familiar situation. In general, the domestic opposition and progressive citizens are now also related to Russian political prisoners. Yes, in the past there were thousands of promotions for the release of political prisoners, but now a dozen people come to the courts for accused in the “swamp case”, and less and less money is gathering money for the needs of political prisoners. This is very sad: until we learn to show solidarity, we simply will not cause trust.
Meanwhile, a chemical weapon is produced in the colony by order of Pinochet. They intend to test it just on Daniel. And here it is also important to understand who these people who create crimes: two Vertukhayev who have to experience deadly gas on living people are taken on a stretcher of the prisoner wise torture, discussing their family problems. Many wrote about the banality of evil, but it should be reminded of this constantly. The monsters outwardly are no different from other people, they live next to us. In the morning they greet you sweetly with you, and in the afternoon they pull on the face of the detainee a plastic bag, overlapping the air, and beat him. And they do it, including because they are aware of their impunity.
After the film was released , the German Foreign Minister Franz Walter Steinmeier was forced to admit that "from the 60s to the 80s, German diplomats closed their eyes at best, but in any case did too little to protect their compatriots in the colony." But is Steinmeier now not flirting with the criminal regime of Vladimir Putin?
The film "Colony of Dignidad" is a good vaccine from the dictatorship. Especially for those who dream of a "Russian Pinochet". After all, our society can turn into "digital", if you do not stop the onset of clerical fascism - both supporters of the Islamic state prohibited in Russia and Orthodox fundamentalists. And their activities, unfortunately, are not only not prohibited in our country - they receive state approval and support.
