The head of the Athletics Federation of Germany, Clemens Prokop, called on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to prevent Russian athletes to participate in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

“Recently received information indicates non -compliance with the rules of equal opportunities. This means that they deceived not only athletes - the ideal of the IOC and the Olympic Games was devoted,” the German magazine quoted Prokop as saying.

In his letter, the official indicated that German athletes are shocked by recent doping reports in Russia, supported at the state level, and called him to take measures.

It should be noted that on June 8, the ARD television channel showed the Germansthe next work of the local journalist Heyo Zeppelt, who dedicated the years of his life to create a documentary series about doping in distant Russia. In it, he made rather unfounded accusations against the heads of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

Prokop turned to the head of the IOC Thomas Bach on the eve of June 17 in Vienna in a meeting of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), on which the fate of Russian athletes will be decided .

Last year, after the first film, Seppelt , Iaaf removed all Russian athletes from international competitions, including the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

These sanctions are still valid and can be lifted no earlier than June 17 on the basis of a report of an independent commission, which will determine whether Moscow made enough to withdraw the ban.
