Personal business
Aida Semenovna Vedishcheva (nee Ida Solomonovna Weiss, 75 years old) was born in Kazan in the family of Medicine Professor Solomon Iosifovich Weis and Elena Mitrofanovna Emelyanova. When the girl was only a year, the family moved to Irkutsk. There, Aida graduated from a music school, and then the Institute of Foreign Languages, where she studied German and English. Even at the school, Vedishcheva played at the student theater of musical comedy, so at the end of the institute she left for Moscow “Search for Happiness”. I tried to enter the Higher Theater School named after M. S. Shchepkin, but the attempt failed.
Thanks to the beautiful, strong voice, Aida was able to start a singing career. Since the beginning of the 1960s, she began to act as a pop singer of the Kharkov Philharmonic. She worked with the Lundstrem orchestra, then for three years with the Utesov orchestra.
The first steps of Aida Vedishcheva on the radio were the programs "Youth" and "Good Morning". Since 1966 she gave solo concerts with the Ensemble "Meloton", also sang in VIA "Blue Guitars" by I. Granov. In 1966 she became a laureate of the first All -Union Soviet Song Competition.
All -Union fame for Aida Vedishcheva came after she sang a “Song of Bears” in the film “Caucasian captive” in 1966. The record released by the company "Melody" with its recording parted instantly.
In 1968, Aida received a diploma at the Festival in Sopot for the song “Geese, Geese”.
And again, her name was to perform songs in the cinema - for others. The songs about the bears were followed by the songs “Volcano of Passion” (“Help me!”) From the film “Diamond Hand” (1968), the song “Comrade” popular in those years (“So that friendship was carried through the waves ...”, 1970, “Blue Water” (cartoon “Light”) and others.
Another song of Aida is “Forest Deer” from the film “Oh, this Nastya!” (1972) - It also became a super -worship, it sounded daily on the All -Union radio.
However, despite the huge success of the audience, the career of Aida did not work out successfully - to her, like some other singers (V. Mulerman, L. Mondrus, M. Crystalinskaya), they repaired: they did not allow concerts, did not apply on television, did not fate abroad and did not even mention the films. According to the writer and the journalist, the author of books about the Russian stage and television Fedor Razzakov, one of the reasons for this was the anti -Semitism of the head of the GOSTELEDIO S. G. Lapin.
Since the mid -seventies, the name of the singer generally disappeared from cinema and cartoons with her participation.
Aida tried to realize herself on the stage. Having met from the “voice of America” with the art of Barbra Streisand, Dayan Ross, Donna Summer, she decided to create something similar to the musical in the Soviet Union. With the Ensemble “Meloton” staged a pop -up theatrical performance “Singing Novels”, during which the musicians not only accompanied, but also acted as actors. For example, in the short story “Sormovskaya Fair” a real boat floated on stage, buffoons danced, a crowded bazaar with folk songs, ditties unfolded on the banks of the Volga ...
However, the pop -up theater breaking out of the framework of official art caused the discontent of Soviet officials. "Singing novels" lasted only eight months. Then the musicians were taken from Vedischeva. “Motivation:“ You have a very strong, professional team, we need it to send it abroad. And you are so energetic - you will collect one more for yourself. ” In my youth and naivety, I was glad that I had so highly appreciated my labors. With enthusiasm for the beginning of rehearsal with new musicians. As soon as the team gained strength, it was from me ... again they took it. Then I told myself: “That's enough! Nobody will take anything away from me, no one will leave me and betray me!”, The singer recalls.
In 1980, Aida Vedishcheva left her mother and son in the United States. After that, most of her records on the radio, as well as the notes of other emigrating singers, was demagnet.
In America, almost forty -year -old singer had to start from scratch. She entered the theater college and studied American cinema, stage and dance for four years. She earned a nurse in the evenings, sang for a Russian audience. At first she settled in New York, then moved to Los Angeles.
Two years later, Vedishcheva made her solo program “The Best of Broadway and Hollywood” (“Best Broadway and Hollywood”). She bought a house on wheels and traveled to it with her family almost all of America with concerts.
Over time, Vedishcheva was recognized by representatives of Russian emigration in the United States, created her own theater and her own television show on California TV, but did not become widely known among the American audience.
The singer performs mainly an American repertoire - songs from popular Broadway musicals and Hollywood films, as well as the songs of Michelle Legrand, Russian and gypsy romances, Jewish songs.
With time, Vedishcheva began to perform less often, but began to write songs herself. Among them - “Ballad of Chernobyl”, “Life is music”, “Christmas”, “America”, “I will return, Moscow!”.
After the perestroika, Aida was able to visit her homeland and, since 1989, repeatedly came to the Soviet Union, and then to Russia. She took part in the Golden Hit festival in Mogilev.
In America, Vedishchev married for the third time - for the millionaire Jay Markoff. However, soon the husband first forbade her to fly to Russia alone, and then demanded that she stop the concert activity. As a result, the couple divorced.
In the early 1990s, she was diagnosed with third-degree cancer. Despite the warnings of doctors, Aida insisted on surgery, after which she underwent a course of chemotherapy, and the disease retreated.
In 1998, Vedishcheva set the show "Miss Freedom - for the new millennium." After the 2001 terrorist attack, the musical “masterpiece and singing freedom” wrote and devoted it to the statue of freedom. The musical was in 2007 on Broadway.
In 2002, Vedisheva’s first CD “somewhere in the world” was released. In 2004, the singer received the Kino-Vatson Award for an outstanding contribution to the creation of cinema music and for the performance of songs in films.
What is famous
Photo: kaleda.ruAida Vedishcheva, artist of the pop, for many Soviet people, remained a “voice behind the scenes”: the songs in her performance sounded in the most popular films, the spectators did not see the singer herself. The most famous were the "Song of Bears", "Help me", "Forest Deer", "Lullaby of the bear". Only the record with the "Song of Bears" in its performance was released by a seven -bill edition, which was instantly sold out.
Vedishcheva was also the first performer of the song “Comrade” (“I am a song, like a wind, fill the country ...”) composer Oleg Ivanov to the verses of Alexander Prokofiev. In May 1970, the song won the All -Union Competition of Young Composers. “Then this song spread around the entire Soviet Union and became the anthem of youth,” the singer recalled.
What you need to know about
According to Aida Vedishcheva herself, she earned the disgrace of officials of Soviet culture after the festival in Sopot. The 1968 festival coincided with the Prague Spring.
“And now imagine: on one of the competitive days on the local radio they announce:“ Soviet troops entered Prague. ” What has begun here! Karel Gott with the words “I can’t sing when the Motherland is in danger” left the competition. I was so bad, so ashamed that in this introduction of the troops there was my personal wine! And then bossy calls rained down from Moscow: “Vedishcheva - not to sing!” The authorities were afraid that out of solidarity to the Czechs, the representative of the Soviet Union is booing. But I disobeyed. Spended. And I sang several instead of one song. Moreover, a couple of songs by Volodya Shainsky, who, as it turned out, at that time was not in honor of the authorities. Contrary to the political mess, they met me perfectly, called me to BIS and, according to the results of the competition, they awarded the second prize. And at this time in Moscow, the Minister of Culture Furtseva was already reported about my trick. So I got a blacklist. They stopped showing me on television, broadcast on the radio, canceled concerts, ”said the singer.
It is argued that the Minister of Culture Ekaterina Furtseva personally entered the soloist of the pop groups Aid Vedishev on the list of artists "not recommended for performance on radio and television."
Direct speech
About the recording of the “Songs of Bears”: “ There were many artists to record, because it was necessary that the singer’s voice was combined with the image of the main character - Natalia Varley. Actually, I had no idea about any competition: my friend who worked on the radio called me and said: I need to write down the song. I looked at the notes. The song turned out to be straightforward, and there is nothing especially to sing! The record took half an hour, then I went home and forgot to think about it. A week later, a call: you went through a competition for the heroine's voice . ”
About the record of the song “Help me!”: “Almost at midnight - a call from the composer Alexander Zatsepin:“ Aida, urgently come to the studio, all your songs have already been recorded, you are left alone! ” I come and see such a picture: there is a large red carpet on the floor, three with a bottle of vodka lies on it and drink in anticipation of me: Yuri Nikulin (he just finished the song “But we don’t care!” And he didn’t care!), Andrei Mironov - after his “bad luck island”, and director Leonid Gaidai. We saw me: "Oh, Aida, come on, join us!" I say: “Why did you call me here in the middle of the night - to drink or sing? So 30 years ago, the legendary tango was born “Help me!” ”.
About the stage: “I never considered myself just a singer. I am rather a dramatic actress. For me, not a game was important, but life on stage. I sing and dance all my life, although I did not study the stage movement anywhere: I just let my body go into the will, and it itself does what it wants. In the Soviet Union, I was the first to make a show like Broadway. All her life I dreamed of creating a theater on stage. For me, music, word, gesture, dance are one! ”
About emigration: “These were 1972-1975. Mondrus left - a very talented singer, Rostropovich left ... So to talk about Vedishcheva? I left the last - like the last of the Mogican. This happened in March 1980. I just had no other way out. I understood: if I stay, it will be my creative death. ”
About the principles: “I have a principle - in my life I did not run after men and money. Therefore, I always had them. ”
About cancer : “In America, this disease is not considered something shameful and terrible. The most popular and famous are not protected from cancer. There is an attitude in society: if you are talking about illness aloud, it means that you declare your readiness to fight it openly, counting on the help of both relatives and distant. ”
