Kyiv prepared and handed over the documents necessary for returning to his homeland by exchange of the Crimean prisoner of Gennady Afanasyev and the convicted person in the "espionage" case of Yuri Soloshenko. This was stated by the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko, reports Ukrainian Pravda.

“Closed legal negotiations are underway and I have restrained optimism that they will return home soon. The legal side is fully prepared and transferred to the Russian Federation. The answer will be received according to the results of political negotiations,” Petrenko said.

“As it was with Nadezhda (Savchenko. Ed.), Political negotiations were conducted until the last moment. The situation is the same. And it is very important that politicians until our guys cross the Ukrainian border, do not comment on the negotiations, because the negotiations are very difficult,” the head of the Ministry of Justice added.

On Thursday, Afanasyev and Soloshenko, the ex-head of the presidential administration, Viktor Medvedchuk, announced the possible exchange of Afanasyev and Soloshenko . He did not name the names of those who are supposed to be exchanged by the Political Zecks. “You will find out when the exchange takes place,” he said. “I think this will happen in the near future.”

On Friday, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Gritsak confirmed the possibility of exchange of Afanasyev and Soloshenko on two defendants in the “May 2 case”. "Yes, we are doing work on the preparation of this exchange and we will do everything to return all citizens who are located on the territory of Russia," said Gritsak "these are 11 citizens whom we will return to the territory of our country," he added.

The court in the "case of May 2" has not yet begun. In Odessa, there are accused Russian citizens Yevgeny Mepedov and Maxim Sakaov.

At the end of May, the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa transferred Mfeedov from a pre -trial detention center under house arrest, but two days later the Kiev district court of the city repeatedly sent him to bars in the new case - for the threat of murder of the key witness of the prosecution of Alexander Sommichenko.

On May 2, 2014, bloody clashes occurred in Odessa between activists of local Maidan and Antimaydan. The battles began on Novosobornaya Square. The police not only did not interfere with the riots, but also covered the anti -Maidan people who used firearms. In the future, skirmishes moved to the house of trade unions on the Kulikovo field, where the headquarters of Antimaydan was located.

Some of the anti -Maidanians continued to shoot from the roof, many people were inside the building. Later, a fire began in the building. Several people died of burns, most died from carbon monoxide poisoning and unidentified gases. In total, 48 people became victims of clashes on May 2.
