Fans began to throw each other with firecrackers, as a result of which the bar caught fire. The police detained seven participants in the fight. Their nationality is not reported.
A number of incidents occurred. In order to prevent further unrest, the city authorities ordered to close all bars and restaurants in the area of the old Marseille port.
The Minister of Sports of France Patrick Kanner, in an interview with I -Television, said that England -Russia in Marseille is one of the five most risky games throughout the tournament, since it may contain clashes between fans. “The situation can become explosive,” Kanner noted. The minister assured that the authorities will do everything so that the match is safe for the audience. Fans of two teams proceed to the place of the match by different routes.
On Saturday, the clashes continued . The police had to use tear gas, after which the fans went to neighboring streets. Some of them continued to fight in the crowd, tearing off each other's T -shirts and breaking bottles of beer. During the clashes, several people were injured.
“Recently there were several skirmishes, but I hope that there will be no serious fights. This is happening all day and will continue until late at night,” said Alexander Shropin, the head of the All -Russian association of fans.
On Friday, five Russian fans, who flew to Marseille organized by a charter flight, refused to let go to the country. “They pulled them out at passport control, took it aside and did not let them into the country. The explanation is that they seem to be held somewhere in the Interpol base, although they are not in Russian lists. They were not allowed for a long time, they had to fly back,” said Shoplygin.
