On July 30, Chirniya was taken to the trial of Sentsov and Kolchenko as a witness. He refused to testify, referring to Article 51 of the Russian Constitution. On August 10, the defense of Sentsov and Kolchenko said that the testing of Chirniy on the polygraph does not confirm Sentsov's guilt .
