The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation proposed a joint Hyperloop project in the Far East

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation offered the creators of the Hyperloop high-speed transport system a project to build a test site in the Far East. This was announced on NTV by the head of the department, Maxim Sokolov, participating in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

This, according to the minister, is about a 70-kilometer section within the framework of the Primorye-2 transport corridor "with access across the Chinese border to the port of Zarubino."

“I have already held talks with Hyperloop and its management,” Sokolov said.

According to the head of the Ministry of Transport, the cost of the project may be lower than the construction of the railway, "that is, within 30 billion rubles."

“We agreed that by the Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held in early September, we will make a feasibility study of the project,” the minister added.

The head of the Ministry of Transport recalled that this technology is also being developed in Russia, and a working model has already been made at the St. Petersburg University of Communications.
