
The American developer of innovative Local Motors and IBM company introduced an unmanned Olli electric bus for 12 passengers, which is controlled by a Watson supercomputer.
As planned by the developers, this vehicle "on demand" will be able to deliver passengers from large transport hubs to the house. The mini-automatic one can wait for a stop or call using a mobile application, reports N+1 .
Most details for Olli are printed on a 3D printer. Local Motors say that the printing of buses will take no more than 10 hours, and it will take an hour to assemble.
The bus is equipped with more than 30 sensors, including radar, lidar and cameras - Watson collected from them analyzes, and then studies on their basis. During the trip, passengers will be able to communicate with Ollie and ask him questions about how the bus works and whether he is going in the right direction. At the same time, on request, artificial intelligence will be able to recommend local restaurants or other attractions.
In the coming months, Olli will be tested in Washington, by the end of the year he should also appear in Miami and Las Vegas. Negotiations are already underway on testing a smart mini-automation in Berlin, Copenhagen and Kanberre.
