On June 17, the Tverskoy District Court fined Viktor Kapitonov for distributing leaflets with information about Prosecutor General Yury Chaika on the day of his reappointment. The charge was brought under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Violation by a participant of a public event of the established procedure for holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing). The maximum fine was set at 20,000 rubles, according to Mediazona.
On June 15, the police detained Kapitonov and another activist, Vasily Nedopekin. On June 22, an administrative case against Nedopekin will be considered.
