In Makhachkala, police officers on June 17 detained about eighty parishioners of a mosque located on Hungarian Fighters Street. This is reported by the newspaper "Chernovik".
The policemen stopped the parishioners at the exit, asked for documents and put them on a bus, which took them to the police stations. Most had documents with them, but they were also detained and taken away. The police explain their actions by control and preventive measures: there are 2,800 Makhachkala residents on the control and preventive register, and in total in Dagestan - about ten thousand.
A similar mass detention at this mosque was on April 15.
