A single voting day this year is scheduled for September 18. So now, three months before it, there is a formal announcement of the start of election campaigns, both federal, regional and municipal.
On Friday, June 17, Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the elections of the Seventh Duma are scheduled for September 18, 2016. In accordance with the Constitution, the announcement of the Duma elections is the obligation of the president, so there were no surprises here.
Elections voting. Photo: Info ProFrom this moment, the election law is “frozen”, any changes that will be made to it by deputies will enter into force only after the vote count. So if someone wants to understand the rules by which the mandates in the federal parliament will be distributed, you can already print the law now.
The first stage, according to the law, is the nomination of candidates. This means that in the coming days, congresses of all interested parties will be held, on which election lists will be issued and candidates for single -mandate districts will be appointed. Those who want to go self -nominated can also begin to engage in papers.
However, nothing special will happen for ordinary citizens yet: the election campaign is actually already going on, but its active stage will begin a month before voting, or even later: candidates are always afraid that people will forget about them, so the main part of the advertising is launched as later as possible.
The same can be said about regional and municipal elections: only from the moment they are announced, formal paper work begins, and the most noticeable part of the election campaign will fall at the end of August, or even September.
But the unexpected news brought, as often happens, “Kadyrov’s instram”. Chechnya is the only Caucasian Republic, whose head, at least formally, is chosen by citizens. The term of Ramzan Kadyrov just came to an end, so it was known that elections would be held in the republic in September. But the deputies of the Chechnya parliament at a meeting on Thursday also decided to self -dissolution. So after three months, the Chechens have to choose deputies.

Today, the Parliament of the Chechen Republic has decided on an early self -level. At the 82nd meeting, the deputies introduced this issue to the agenda. The next elections were to be held in September 2018. In order to save budgetary funds, the parliament voted to combine the elections of the head of the Czech Republic and the legislative authority in September 2016, ” wrote Ramzan Kadyrov. He also thanked the deputies for "huge work in the name of the Chechen Republic and all of Russia."
The current parliament of the third convocation was elected in September 2013, its term of office ended only in 2018. Interestingly, this is the second case of self -development of the parliament in the history of Chechnya - but the story of the republic, it is worth recognizing, is special.
