The ex-head of the FSUE "Anti-Doping Center" Grigory Rodchenkov became a defendant in the criminal case of abuse of powers. This was reported by the press service of the TFR.

The case under Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority) was initiated according to the results of a pre -investigation of the Rodchenkov interviews published in the media, "in which he announced numerous violations of anti -doping rules in Russian sports, including with his participation." In addition, the Prosecutor General’s Office conducted an audit of information set out in the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency on the destruction of doping industry at the direction of the director of the ADC.

According to the TFR, on December 9, 2014, WADA, in connection with the investigation, sent Rodchenkov an indication of the storage of all doping tests in the ADC to further instructions. The director of the ADC confirmed the agency to receive a letter and assured that all samples are reliably stored. However, already a few days later, Rodchenkov gave an oral instruction to the head of the registration and accounting department of the bioprob on the destruction of all samples.

"Thus, according to the investigation, Rodchenkov used his powers contrary to the legitimate interests of the organization indicated above and in order to extract benefits and advantages for himself, which entailed a significant causing harm to rights and legitimate interests. On November 10, WADA suspended the accreditation of the "Anti -Doping Center" . On the same day, Rodchenkov resigned, so that, according to the Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko, "all the negativity with him."

The ex-director of the laboratory admitted that he developed three mixtures from the forbidden drugs that he mixed with alcohol and gave athletes. Doping was used by some leaders of the Russian Olympic team. Among them are 14 liners and two members of the bobslei team, which eventually won gold medals.

Russian anti-doping experts and special services replaced the doping tests of the Russian national team at “clean” samples taken a few months before the Olympic competitions, Rodchenkov said. By the end of the games, about 100 urine samples were replaced.

On Friday, the International Association of Athletics federations extended the disqualification of VFLA , established due to the doping of the Snard. This decision means the actual ban on the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
