The tragedy in Orlando, where a local resident, Afghan by nationality, shot 50 visitors to the Pulse gay club, set a sad record for the number of victims of such crimes in the United States. This massacre is overgrown with new details every day

Usually the release of hostages in such cases lasts only a few minutes, but in Orlando the special operation stretched for three hours. 29-year-old Omar Matin, Afghan by nationality and American by birth, shot the first Pulse dancing at the Pulse nightclub at two in the morning. The police took the assault on the building only five, rammed the wall with an armored vehicle. Through the break, those whom Matin did not have time to shoot him rushed into the street. Among the running was the killer. Seeing a rifle and a pistol in the hands of the criminal, the police opened fire on him.

Immediately after the terrorist attack, the authorities reported that Matin used the Armalite AR-15 multi-charged rifle. Later it turned out that this was not so: he shot from the MSC rifle production Sig Sauer (Germany). The “German” has the same caliber (5.56 mm), it is similar to the AR-15, but another design, and it costs more ($ 1866). Both American and German rifles are semi -automatic, that is, each time you need to lower the trigger each time. Automatic weapons for the civilian population in the United States are banned since 1986. The tragedy in Orlando has already become the reason for the calls to ban the semi -automatic weapons.

Out of respect for Matina’s victims, the local pathologist conducted an autopsy of his corpse in a separate room. By the way, the same physician three days later examined the body of a two -year -old boy who died in the Disney World entertainment Park in Orlando, he was dragged under the water of an artificial lake Alligator.

A talkative killer

In three hours spent in the club, the killer could kill all visitors. Fortunately, Matina also found other classes. In total, a single terrorist made 16 calls from the club on a mobile phone, including the police. The first time he scored 911 in 2.30, but without saying anything, he hung up. Soon he called back and spoke with the woman-dispatcher for several minutes. In particular, he announced his devotion to the leader of the Islamic State * Abu Bakru al-Baghdadi and explained that he acts from solidarity with Boston bombers of the Tsarnaev brothers and like them to take revenge on the bombing of other countries. Matin also mentioned a resident of Florida Moner Mohammad Abusalhu, the first American marten to blow himself up in Syria.

In the hope of distracting the criminal with conversations from shooting, the dispatcher then herself called him back and won a little more time.

Matin also called his friend, whose name is not yet called, as well as to the studio of the local News 13 television channel. That night, producer Matthew Genili answered the calls of the audience. The phone was cut off by alarmed people who heard about shots in a nightclub. The bell, sounding about 2.45, was not like others.

"Do you know about shooting?" The calling asked.

“Yes, I receive reports of shooting,” Genetili answered.

“I shot,” the invisible interlocutor interrupted. “I shot it.”

Matin stated that he attacked Pulse from solidarity with the Islamic State * , and switched to Arabic, whom Jenly did not know.

“Sir, please speak English,” the producer asked.

“I am doing this for the“ Islamic state ” * ,” Matin repeated in English.

Blocked in the club by the police, he spent time and in conversations with hostages. The 20-year-old Paciens Carter was hiding with other visitors in the toilet. She told how Matin appeared in the doorway and asked if there were African Americans here. The man raised his hand. “You know, I have no complaints about black. We are talking about my country. And you suffered enough, ”the killer reassured.

Gay version

Despite the fact that Matin has repeatedly spoke about his commitment to IG * ideals * , the American media do not really believe in the Islamist motives of the massacre arranged and develop several versions, of which the most piquant is homosexual. The first wife of Matina, who lived with him for about four months, spoke about such inclinations of the killer. In addition, five Pulse regulars were informed by the local newspaper Orlando Sentinel that they saw him in a gay club at least ten times. Two repeated the same to the FBI agents. They also argue that Matin was a user of a social network for gay Jack'd. Some allegedly recognized him in Pulse from photographs from such sites. All this gave rise to the version that Matin was at least a latent homosexual and hated it in himself. According to this theory, shooting visitors to the gay club, he killed gay in himself.

The widow of the jihadist

Until June 12, Matin came to Pulse at least once, together with his wife, 30-year-old Nur Salman. A girl from the Palestinian family met him, as well as her previous husband, via the Internet, and a couple got married in September 2011. The investigation does not exclude that the spouses came to the gay club for reconnaissance.

According to some reports, the investigators also have an entry from the surveillance camera in the weapon store, where Matin and Salman are buying cartridges. Nur allegedly knew about the murderous plans of Omar and on Saturday night begged him not to go to the jihad in Pulse, which is located 195 km from their house.

In the USA there is no criminal article for informing about the impending crime, but a punishment for participating in conspiracy and for the help of the criminal is provided. However, the prosecutor’s office is not yet ready to bring Nur Salman any accusations.

In the last hours of life, Matin actively used the Facebook network, where he had five accounts. “America and Russia, stop bombing the“ Islamic state! ”* - he demanded. The last post of the killer from Orlando sounds ominously: “In the coming days you will see attacks from the“ Islamic state ”* in the USA!”
