On June 27, the Uritsky District Court of the Oryol Region refused Oleg Navalny in parole. Oleg remains a prisoner, reads letters from the will and discusses their role in prison

It looks like IK-5, where Oleg Navalny is serving his term
I find very ironic the fact that for 8 years of my work in the divisions of the Russian Post I have not sent a single letter, but now I receive several letters per day and I send about the same amount, and this is to a certain extent due to the fact that I worked in this organization. Letters are actually very cool, and at least the progress in the field of information transmission has significantly reduced their role (including for convicts), it is pleasant to receive them to stupor: the receipt of the mail is overshadowed by any process, all things are postponed to see what is there, in the envelope?
After transferring to strict conditions of detention, where telephone conversations are prohibited, letters became the only two -way channel for me, and taking into account the fact that I am contained in a single chamber, a monopoly form of communication with human beings in general. Who writes me? Housewives, oil workers, programmers, lawyers, theater and cinema workers, pensioners, students, military, former salary, salary from other places of detention, and sometimes other countries; Those who, apparently, still have to try on prison robe, logists, mathematicians, private entrepreneurs, journalists, psychologists, doctors, political activists, those who are disappointed in the protest movement, victims of the 30s repression, employees of the FBK (!!!), winners of the Clever and Clever program (!!!!!), teachers, veterans of the Second World War, writers, writers, writers, writers, writers. Dawnshifters, emigrants, returners, celebrities, sociologists, artists, musicians, people of vague professional affiliation, friends, relatives, wife (from her the most anticipated letters).
Someone writes without a return address, and with others I correspond to more than a year and really made friends. What do they write to me? They write to themselves, about the weather, about children, cats and dogs, send jokes, news, historical notes, fairy tales, poems and stories, explain complex technological processes, give advice on yoga, sports, nutrition, meditation, teach languages and art of juggling, talk about travels, funny life situations, invite you to visit (and I agree). Riddles, photos, icons, postcards of all shapes and sizes, drawings of their children, herbariums, holographic rulers, and sometimes even telegrams, urge and not lose heart.
After transferring to strict conditions of detention, where telephone conversations are prohibited, letters became the only bilateral communication channel for me
In a sense, I was lucky with the censors: they miss all letters according to the law, but, for example, as they write to me, the censor in the colony of Oleg Sentsov does not miss printed letters, apparently believing that they can only be written by a goose pen in the light of the beam. Taking the joy of receiving each letter, I feel remorse for being free, I was never able to write a single letter to “swamps” - I did not know what to tell them. It should have been like this: “Hello, my name is Oleg, a former postman, I have a wife and two children (my wife and elder give you hello, the younger nods and says“ yes! ”). Here is a cool story, how I got from Paris to Nuremberg by electric shoes ... History is so -so, so I put Voinovich’s funny story in an envelope - I pulled it out for you from a book, well, a couple of postcards with the views of Elabuga and Strazdopuzhsk - suddenly you want to send someone. If you need to help you or your relatives - write, do not lose heart yourself and hold on. ”
Therefore, I feel sincere respect for people who decided to write - this is like it is not difficult, but not a fig: not only it is not clear about what, you also need to go on the fly and stages there under the icy gaze of the communications operator, timidly receiving brands on an envelope. But there are also intergalactic heroes who send me books with cash on delivery - they had to send a money transfer (minus 5 years of life, plus 100 to karma). Now I am preparing for delivery to the IK-5 warehouse, a zekovsky bag with received letters and postcards-this is only about a quarter of a central weight containing about 1,400 written messages. On average, having spent reading - the answer of each for 30 minutes, out of 17 months of my imprisonment in prison, I did not sit in it for almost one month, but communicated with smart, interesting, cheerful and kind people, and this luxury is far from accessible to every free person. This mathematics will work for any political market, and if you have not yet dared to destroy the constitutional system in order to get him out of prison, just write him a letter.
