The head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov said on Monday that Russia is fully fulfilling its obligations to ensure the ceasefire and reconciliation in Syria, but patience in relation to the situation of our country ends.

“Patience in relation to the situation in Syria ends with us, not the Americans. We fully fulfill our obligations and agreements to ensure the ceasefire and national reconciliation in Syria. The American side has all the time with some “difficulties” with the controlled “opposition”, ”Gerasimov said.

“Therefore, when we hear the prosecution from the Pentagon’s leadership, that somehow“ unprofessional ”we use the communication lines, either it does not know about the current channels of the interaction, or inaccurate information is brought,” said the head of the General Staff. He also recalled that in Geneva there is a Russian-American center of operational response and there is a line of direct communication to prevent incidents in the airspace of Syria.

Recall that last week the ending patience in relation to the Syrian conflict was announced in the State Department of the United States. US Secretary of State John Kerry said that Washington’s patience regarding the situation in Syria is “not endlessly”. “In fact, now it is very limited in relation to whether Assad will be held accountable,” said the head of American diplomacy.

Later, the official representative of the State Department John Kirby tried to soften the situation. According to him, Kerry’s statement was not a threat, simply the Secretary of State expressed his disappointment due to how the situation in Syria unfolds.

Kerry’s words were also responded by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. He advised his colleague to be more patient, and reminded that "the US presidential administration pursues a policy of strategic patience."

But the head of the General Staff went on. He stated that terrorists in Syria are actively restoring their forces, and the situation in the country is again heating up.

“For three months, we have been sending the coordinates of the IS and“ Jebhat-An-Nusra ”objects for three months (both groups are prohibited in the Russian Federation as terrorist), and our American partners still cannot decide: where are the oppositions and where are werewolves from international terrorist organizations,” Gerasimov said on Monday.

Despite the fact that Assad, the “opposition” and the Kurds concluded a truce, Syria is still far from the union. In April, parliamentary elections were held, in which the Baas President received more than 75% of the places - which is not surprising, since most of the opposition, as well as the Kurds, these elections were boycotted.

Also in April in Geneva, negotiations were held between the Assad government and the opposition - but the forces representing the opponents of Assad outside Syria, the so -called. The “external opposition” left negotiations before they began.

Recently, the State Department said that the “external opposition” would most likely not return to negotiations, but still hoped that political settlement can begin until the end of summer.
