© Aslan Gaysumov / Museum "Garage"The Museum of Modern and Art “Garage” announced the start of receiving applications for scholarships for young Russian artists for 2016/17 and the launch of the new grant program “Art and Technology”.
According to the website of the Garage Museum, scholarships will be provided to artists working in the field of actual art. The age of artists is from 18 to 35 years.
The priority qualities when choosing a candidate are the extraordinary thinking, work with new materials and forms, the convincing and logic of artistic solutions.
Applications for scholarships are accepted until September 5 at grant@garagemca.org .
The grant program was established in 2012 with the aim of comprehensive support for young Russian artists. The jury, consisting of experts in the field of contemporary art, will choose the winners who will receive a monthly scholarship of 30 thousand rubles during the year.
The task of the program is to provide young authors with financial independence, which will allow them to direct their creative resources to the development of professional skills and expand the field of research interests. The scholarships are also involved in the educational and exhibition programs "Garage".

As part of cooperation with SDV ARTS & Science Foundation , Garage complements its grant program with a new direction-“Art and Technology”, focused on supporting personal and collective projects of young artists working in the field of IT technologies, engineering and Science ART .
The laureates of the "Art and Technology" direction will also be provided with a two-week trip to the SDVENTURAS art resident in Riga, located in the office of the company, where intellectual enrichment of both parties will take place in the dialogue between artists and programmers.
