From June 29 to July 31 in the Center for Contemporary Art “Vinzavod” in Moscow as part of the Start project, an exhibition of Elizabeth Chukhlatseva will be held.

“The artist shows the life of her homeland, the sleeping area of ​​Kazan. - report the organizers of the exhibition. - Old plush toys, knitted lace napkins, leaving bike blankets, dusty artificial flowers - all these are artifacts of her childhood, souvenirs of everyday life. With the help of these objects, she tells the story of her own growing up in a society where time has stopped. The frozen children's images in the photographs of Chukhlatseva seemed to her today, she is trying to try on life ten years ago, from which she has long grown. ”

“Sculptures created based on the verses of Korney Chukovsky and called the names of fairy -tale heroes known to us since childhood, seem to be familiar only at first glance. The bizarre chimeras made of all the same recognizable objects of the situation of any Soviet apartment turn into new altars of nostalgia for the past, in which those born in the 90s never lived and which they cannot remember. ”

“The generation of born in the 90s sprouted through the ruined fragments of Soviet material culture in the conditions of information chaos of everyday life comparable to the wild field.
