The State Duma Committee on Security and Combating Corruption removed the Regulation on deprivation of citizenship from the "anti -terrorism" bill, TASS reports .
The new version of the bill, which will be considered by the State Duma on June 24 in the second and third readings, does not mention two provisions on the deprivation of citizenship, which were previously approved by the Committee.
The first involved the deprivation of citizenship for violation of several terrorist and extremist articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the second - for service in the army or law enforcement agencies of other states, as well as "implementation without the consent of the authorized bodies of the Russian Federation in international organizations in which the Russian Federation does not participate."
The law said that “a person is considered voluntarily emerging from citizenship”, in cases where one of these conditions was fulfilled .
Earlier on June 22, the same committee approved a bill containing two grounds for deprivation of citizenship. This legislative initiative was criticized by lawyers and human rights activists. In the evening of the same day, the amendments disappeared from the website of the lower house of the parliament, as RBC wrote - for emergency making changes.
The publication clarified that the amendments would concern the deprivation of citizenship, including due to the fact that it was offered to deprive Russian passports those who have two citizenships, and this measure would affect many residents of Crimea, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Deputy Dmitry Gudkov claimed that the bill was discussed “secretly, in violation of the regulations”: the initiatives concerned several relevant committees, which were not appointed co -executors.
In addition to deprivation of citizenship, a package of “anti -terrorism” bills prepared by deputy Irina Yarova and Senator Viktor Ozerov also contain other toughening anti -terrorism and anti -exploration legislation.
Among the proposed measures are an increase in terms and fines for several articles, a decrease in the age of responsibility for crimes up to 14 years, as well as the mandatory storage of calls and information transferred by subscribers within six months.
