Complaints to extend the arrest of participants in the second Hizb ut-Tahrir case were rejected

On June 23, the Supreme Court of Crimea upheld the decision to extend the detention period until September 8 to three participants in the second Crimean case of Hizb ut-Tahrir - Enver Bekirov, Muslim Aliyev and Vadim Siruk. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Crimean Solidarity community. The hearing was held in a conference call mode.

Consideration of the appeal of the fourth participant in the case of the Crimean Tatar human rights activist Emir-Usein Kuku was postponed to June 28 at 13:00 due to the lack of his protection.

All three defendants complained that it was very hot and stuffy in the cells where they were kept. Vadim Siruk said that he is experiencing a severe toothache, but he does not want to go to a dentist in the pre-trial detention center because he does not treat his teeth, but immediately removes them, so Siruk has to take medicine to dull the pain. Bekirov also complained about the unsatisfactory state of his health - severe headaches and pressure problems.

The suspects in the second case of participation in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Crimea were arrested on February 11. On this day, a series of searches took place in the homes of Crimean Tatars and Muslims of other nationalities in different parts of the peninsula. At the request of the FSB, the court sent into custody a representative of the Human Rights Contact Group Emir-Usein Kuku, a resident of Alushta Muslim Aliyev, as well as Enver Bekirov and Vadim Siruk from Yalta.
