In May 2013, in St. Petersburg, IT sphere activists organized the All-Russian Union of IT workers , which is engaged in the informing and protection of workers of the rights of employees of the IT industry. What caused the creation of the trade union, what problems IT specialists face and what disputes have already been won.
Despite the fact that the level of salaries in this area is higher than the average, the problems of IT industry employees are the same as in any other field. Among the programmers and ITSHRI, work is common on overtime, as a rule, additional non -paid, work on weekends, lack of registration under the contract, “gray” wages and delay payments for more than 15 days.
The impetus for the creation of the trade union was the labor conflict of one of the representatives of the IT industry with the employer. The conflict concerned payments after dismissal, lasted about two months and ended with a complete victory of the trade union.
“If in essence, everyone needs a trade union in Russia, because labor legislation, which is partly not bad, is very rare. And employers do not understand why they must comply with laws, respect the rights of employees. In IT, this problem is clearly noticeable. The ITSHNOV, on the one hand, has quite high salaries.
On the other hand, many work without official agreements, receive gray salaries, have no social guarantees. If the next startup burns out, then most likely everyone will be dismissed without laid compensation, in violation of laws. Many work more than 40 hours a week, without receiving overtime, and so on. Actually, while the industry is still growing in Russia, there is a demand for specialists, it is necessary to create a trade union. ” Maxim Kulaev, one of the leaders of the community and an employee of the Interregional Trade Union "Workers' Organization"

In order to join the trade union, it is enough to fill out a questionnaire on the site and send the organizers. It does not matter which company you work in and in which region of the country you live. In the community of the VKontakte trade union today 1521 people.
“The main task now is to disseminate information about the trade union, about what it is, to increase legal literacy. ITSHNIKS WHAT ARE NOT BETTERS NOT BETTERS than the rest. Legal literacy in Russia is at a very low level. I think that in the future, the number of ITSHERS will grow. The industry will be saturated with labor, so their conditions will inevitably deteriorate. And the trade union will be in demand. ” Maxim Kulaev.
Members of the trade union try to show with their own example in practice that there is no need to be afraid to defend the rights prescribed in the Labor Code and contracts. On the organization’s website in the “Experience of Wrestling” section, 14 successful cases of ITSHICS to fight for their rights are presented: from official strikes in Germany to changing the working conditions of employment and legal registration in the private company of Novosibirsk.

The infringement of labor rights occurs everywhere, but many are sure that if you act collectively, this will lead to positive changes or making a decision in their favor.
Now the organization’s activities are aimed, first of all, to inform the industry representatives about their legal rights and the possibilities of their protection.
