Gunmen attacked a hotel in the capital of Somalia

In the center of the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu, militants of the terrorist group "Al Shabab" attacked the hotel. It is reported by the BBC.

First, a suicide bomber blew up a car near the entrance to the hotel, and then militants armed with firearms broke into the building and took hostages.

The attack killed at least 15 people, mostly bystanders and hotel guards. Another 25 people were injured of varying severity.

According to Reuters, the attack on the hotel was due to the fact that it is often visited by members of the Somali government.

Al-Shabab is an Islamist group formed in 2004 in Somalia. It is financed by the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda (banned in Russia), as well as by Somali businessmen.
