© International Diaghilev FestivalOn Wednesday, June 29, at 17:00 in the lobby of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater as part of the X International Diaghilev Festival, a presentation of the first Russian publication of memoirs Gerarara Mordier (1943-2014) will be held.
Over the years, Gerard Mortier was an intensity of the Brussels Royal Theater of La Monna, the Parisian Opera, the Royal Theater, the Salzburg festival, and the head of the Ruri Tiennale.
In 2014, the International Jury of the Diaghilev Prize awarded the reward of Gerard Mortier posthumously - for a huge contribution to art and for an outstanding role in the development of the musical theater. The monetary fund of the award was aimed at the publication of the Russian version of its memoirs.
The book "Dramaturgie d'Une Passion ), published for the first time in French in 2009, is the manifesto of the legendary quartermaster. Mordier sets out his vision of the opera genre, recalls the most important stages of the career, formulates the principles of artistic policy of leading musical theaters and festivals of Europe.
In Russian, the book was published for the first time (circulation - 500 copies), the translation was prepared by the employee Mordier Boris Ignatov. The Russian edition includes an essay about Gerard Mortie, written by his associates - Theodor Krentzis, Peter Sellars, Dmitry Chernyakov, as well as an interview with Gerarara Mortier to Russian critics.
The editorial of the publication included Olga Manulkin, Dmitry Renansky and Pavel Gershenzon, who also completed the design project of the book.
“Books about the opera and the Opera Theater in Russian are unforgivably few. There are no books about the modern opera theater at all. "Drama of Passion" Gerara Mortier will take a place in the very center of this empty niche, ”says Olga Manulkina.
“The Russian book Mortier is simultaneously a book about Mordier. - notes the editor. - It is larger than the publications of "dramaturgy of one passion" in European languages. For the first time, all seasons of Mordier are collected under the same cover. On them you can study how the principles of the great opera quartermaster work in practice. Hundreds of names and names in this part of the book, as in the text of Mortier himself, demanded a lot of work on the revision and unification of Russian translations and transcription. ”
