Leonid Entin died

Today, June 29, the poet Leonid Entin died in Paris.

Leonid Grigoryevich Entin was born in 1938 in Dnepropetrovsk, studied at the faculty of the Russian language and literature of the Leningrad Pedagogical Institute.

Since the late 1950s he entered the circle of young non-certificate authors, was close to Joseph Brodsky, Leonid Aronzon, Vladimir Erlem.

In 1963, together with Yuri Galetsky, Ivan Steblin-Kamensky and others, he entered the literary group “Verpa” by Alexei Khvostenko, in 1966 he wrote the absurd play “Belod” together with him.

Published in Samizdat in the 1960s-1970s. In 1977 he was arrested in a fabricated criminal case and sentenced to the year of prison.

In 1978 he emigrated from the USSR, lived in Paris.
