Court fines three more participants in agreed "Progressive Left May Day"

The Mshchansky District Court issued three more indictments in administrative cases of detained participants in the First Progressive Left. All of them - Asya Kunz, Anna Vasyukova and Sasha Krikkerik - were fined 10 thousand rubles. Another case was postponed because the court did not have time to interview all the witnesses. This was reported to OVD-Info by Nikolai Kavkazsky, who acted in court as a defender of the three detainees.

Kavkazsky stressed that the action was previously agreed with the city authorities. However, the police reports stated that the detainees participated in an uncoordinated action and shouted the slogans “Down with the police state” and “Freedom for Sergey Udaltsov”.

Testifying in court, the police officers acknowledged that the action was coordinated. At the same time, they stressed that the protesters held LGBT symbols, prevented the arrest, and chanted “Shame on the homophobic police.” According to Kavkazsky, the judge unofficially said that the slogans that she considered “offensive” became the basis for the accusatory decision.

Earlier, on June 30, another participant in the First Progressive Left, Dmitry Yartsev, was fined 10,000 rubles.
