Protesting truck driver accused of using violence against a police officer

On June 30, Shapi Biyakaev, a member of the Association of Carriers of Russia, was detained in St. Petersburg. This was reported to OVD-Info by his friend.

Biyakaev's car was stopped by the police at the exit from the territory of the Sofia vegetable base in St. Petersburg. The police allegedly wanted to check the tire pressure. Biyakaev asked the police officers for documents allowing a technical check of the vehicle. The police did not show any documents, but tried to force the driver to get out of the car. Biyakaev sat inside until the tow truck arrived.

Then he was forced to leave the cab and go out to the police, one of whom began to choke him and knocked him to the ground. During the scuffle, Biyakaev's pants and shirt were torn. The police did not allow the police to film what was happening on the camera of a mobile phone. The activist was taken to the police department, where he was informed that, in addition to an administrative offense under Art. 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, he is suspected of using violence against a policeman (Article 318 of the Criminal Code).

The court was supposed to take place on July 1, but so far there is no more precise information.

UPD. For Biyakaev, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the country.
