Credo portal announced the departure from the .ru zone

The Credo portal, dedicated to a religious life, announced his departure from the domain zone .ru. This was reported by the edition of the publication. On Tuesday, the portal mirror began to work at www.credo.press .

The head of the site Alexander Soldatov explained the decision made by the “constant problems that he faces ... the publication in Russia in connection with the tightening of“ anti -extremist ”legislation and law enforcement practice - primarily from Roskomnadzor.”

Problems, the journalist continued, began in 2014 with the process on recognition of the extremist film "Enterity piety" , the link to which was published by the portal. Subsequently, the courts declared extremist a number of publications of the site, as a result of which a number of Russian providers blocked access to Credo, "although the courts did not make decisions about such locking, and all materials recognized as extremist were removed from the pages of the portal."

In November 2015, the edition received an official warning about the inadmissibility of extremist activity. After the second such warning during the year, the authorities have the right to close the media.

The flow of notifications from the RKN continues, including with links to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in which they require the editorial office to remove certain publications on the grounds that they are supposedly extremist or disclose someone else's personal data. The publication also fulfills these requirements.

“In general, we leave the short pants of the .ru zone, which becomes a zone of more and more strict regime,” commented on Soldatov’s decision on his FB page.

In mid -May, it became known that the RKN will receive the right to divide domains in the .ru zones and. RF when the information prohibited in Russia spreads these resources. Shortly after this, the "boundaries" left the .ru zone to the international .org zone.

Soldatov, however, did not mention the danger of separation in his explanations.
