The judge of the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don Sergey Mikhaylyuk postponed the hearing in the case of a terrorist attack in the Crimea, the accused of which Maxim Filatov, called the "fighter of the Azov battalion", reports "Interfax-yug".

Filatov has not yet been transferred from the Simferopol pre-trial detention center to Rostov, the agency explains. The new meeting is scheduled for 11 hours on July 26.

As follows from the case card on the court’s website, the hearing is postponed for the second time. Initially, the trial was scheduled for June 22, but then in the process they "announced a break."

Natalya Poklonskaya, Russian prosecutor of Crimea , announced the arrest of Filatov in May 2015 , without naming the name of the defendant. According to the plot of the case, in April 2014, the accused "in order to destabilize interethnic relations" set fire to the Simferopol mosque of Chukurch, and in August of the same year planned to blow up a home-made bomb at the building of the regional prosecutor's office.

On June 3, 2016, Poklonskaya approved the indictment in the case. Part 3 of Article 30 - Part 1 - Part 1 of Article 205 (attempt on the attack), part 2 of Article 167 (intentional damage to other people's property by arson), part 1 of articles 222 (illegal turnover of weapons; two episodes), 222.1 (illegal turnover of explosives) and 223 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal production of explosives) are charged.

Filatov fully pleaded guilty and made a deal with the prosecutor's office. The trial of it will be held in a special order - without interrogations of witnesses and analyzing evidence.

The accusation in the process will be supported by Poklonskaya personally.

Judge Mikhaylyuk in 2015 was presiding in the board, which considered the case of the Crimean Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko , also obviously falsely accused of terrorism. Sentsov was condemned to 20, and Kolchenko - to 10 years of strict regime.

Immediately after the news of the arrest of the Filatov regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, Azov, in which the battalion of the same name was transformed in September 2014, called the Poklonskaya’s message “another provocation” , which “has nothing to do with reality.” “Unlike the Chekists and Islamists, we, Ukrainian nationalists, are not fighting with a civilian population,” the volunteers noted.

Azov also emphasized that the regiment is protecting the sector M, that is, Mariupol and the surroundings, and does not have units operating outside the territory that is actually controlled by the Kyiv authorities.
