
The new editor -in -chief of Gazeta.ru was the head of the business department of the publication Olga Alekseeva, according to the Rambler & Co website, which owns the publication.
Alekseeva will take the post of Svetlana Babaeva, whose dismissal became known earlier on July 5. Over the past 10 years, in Gazeta.ru, she worked as a business department correspondent, and was also the head of the business area.
“We will save and will develop the best traditions developed by the professional team of the editorial office for years. 17 years ago, the “newspaper” was read only on the computer, now a third of the audience is reading us from the screens of mobile devices. In the near future, we will report the latest and most relevant information using new technologies. I am sure that we will certainly lead this digital revolution, ”the new editor announced.
In a conversation with RIA Novosti, Babaeva said that she has “no plans” and she is “open to offers”. Four sources of RBC as amended by Gazeta.ru said that Babaeva’s dismissal was a surprise to her. She was officially fired because the term of her contract was over.
Svetlana Babaeva led Gazeta.ru for three years, before that she worked in the Moscow News and Izvestia, and also wrote columns to the RIA Novosti website.
